... is an extremely complex interior, viewable through a two inch diameter window that is set in the side of the VIC sculpture. It is currently undergoing maintenance and will be viewable again in a fortnight ( from 26 01 09 )

This is Radford's acknowledgement of the grandiose and long since demolished Sky Room, which used to serve as tea rooms on top of one of Auckland's major central city department stores .

Whilst thoroughly representing the embellishments of the interior, Radford changes the room into an endless tunnel that stretches down underground and away out of view.

Replicas of an aged elevator engine alluding to floors below or above the one we are looking into repeat down along the tunnel.
